Kitchen Extractor Fans
Kitchens are usually larger than bathrooms and require more powerful fans. Building Regulations for a natural ventilation system (TGD part F) state that a Kitchen Fan next to a hob needs to have an extraction rate of at least 30 L/S. Fans situated anywhere else in the kitchen must achieve an installed performance of 60 L/S. This can be hard to achieve because at this level of extraction a poor grille can cause a lot of resistance and reduce the free air performance of the fan. This can be solved with the S&P EBB-250 NS installed though the wall. If the fan has to be installed with ducting the the S&P TD 350-125 N inline fan is a good choice.
Building Regulations for a dMEV ventilation system (TGD part F) state that a Kitchen Fan only has to achieve a boost speed of around 13 L/S depending on the size of the house. This can easily be achieved by a number of our constant running dMEV fans at a near silent operation noise level. We do recommend the constant running dMEV fans for homes with mould problems.
